In short: Cafe Show Vietnam 2027 runs from 6 to 8 May 2027 in Hall A at SECC, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City (check again with the organisers closer to the date). Three days of cupping and tasting leave many visitors wired at night and heavy-legged by day three. Plan your caffeine, drink coffee the Saigon way in Thảo Điền, and give yourself one evening with no stimulation at all: a float, then a slow dinner and an early night.

It is 10 pm in your hotel room. Your tongue still remembers forty coffees, your legs remember every aisle of Hall A, and your mind is replaying a conversation with a roaster from the Central Highlands. If you work in coffee, tea or bakery and you are coming to Cafe Show Vietnam in May 2027, this guide is for you: what the show is, how to pace three days of tasting, where to drink coffee the local way, and how to switch off properly in the evening.

Cafe Show is one of several big fairs at SECC this season. Our guide to SECC trade fairs covers the venue, the honest travel time across town and how to plan your last day before the flight, so we will not repeat it here. For other events while you are in town, see our calendar of major events in Ho Chi Minh City.

Three days of tasting: what it does to you

A coffee fair is a strange kind of tiring. You stand for hours, you talk over the noise of grinders and espresso machines, and you taste all day long. Even if you only take a sip at each booth, the caffeine adds up. Add a long flight, and your body clock is still somewhere else.

Caffeine also lasts longer than most of us think. In a small sleep study, a large dose of caffeine taken six hours before bed still cut total sleep time by more than an hour, even though the sleepers did not clearly notice the loss themselves. So that last cupping at four in the afternoon may still be with you at midnight.

A few habits help coffee people get through the week:

  • Use the spit cup at cuppings, as professionals do, and taste more than you swallow.
  • Drink a glass of water for every few coffees, and eat a proper lunch away from the booth.
  • Set your own caffeine cut-off in the afternoon. After it, taste and spit only.
  • Get some morning daylight to help your body clock settle; our jet lag guide for Vietnam explains how.
  • Wear shoes you have already walked in.

Saigon’s coffee culture, the Thảo Điền way

You are in one of the world’s great coffee countries. Almost all of Vietnam’s harvest is Robusta, grown mostly in the Central Highlands, and in Saigon it is usually brewed slowly through a phin and served black or as cà phê sữa đá, iced coffee with sweet condensed milk. Newer cafés serve specialty Arabica and pour-overs next to the classics.

Thảo Điền, the leafy riverside neighbourhood where Ōmni Space is, makes a good morning before or after the fair days. Our team’s favourites, from our guide to things to do in Thảo Điền:

  • Hue Cafe Roastery, 67B Xuân Thủy: a small spot with seats under the trees and a rich, slightly salty cà phê muối (salt coffee) in the style of Huế.
  • Maison Marou, 90 Xuân Thủy: the flagship of the Vietnamese bean-to-bar chocolate maker, worth a visit if you work in bakery or pastry.
  • Phê La: for oolong tea when you have had enough coffee for one day.

Opening hours change, so check on Google Maps before you go.

An evening with nothing to taste

After days of bright acidity and loud halls, your senses need a break. That is what a float is. You lie back in about 25 cm of warm water with dense, mineral-rich Epsom salt, and you float on your own, with no effort at all. The water is about 33–34 °C, close to skin temperature, so after a few minutes you stop feeling where your body ends. The room is dark and quiet, private, with its own shower, and you need no swimsuit.

No flavours, no voices, no screens. Many guests tell us their legs feel light and their mind goes still right after the session, and that they sleep better that night. If you have never tried it, start with what float therapy is.

Ōmni Evidence Scale: Strong evidence, for float and stress. Several trials point the same way. We rate it Strong because, on top of these trials, user experience is overwhelmingly positive: in a 2025 survey of regular floaters, 92% reported relaxation and 77% less stress, echoed by thousands of reviews, Reddit threads and forums, and by athletes and public figures who float. See how we rate evidence on the Ōmni Evidence Scale.

Prefer heat and cold?

Some people unwind better with something more active. Our infrared sauna with red light runs at 45–55 °C, and the cold plunge at 7–12 °C. Our contrast therapy guide explains how to move between the two. A sauna or cold plunge on its own is 450,000 VND, or 200,000 VND extra with a float. Came with your café team? The whole sauna and cold plunge room is 900,000 VND for 60 minutes, for up to 4 people. Bring your own swimwear for the cold plunge, as the counter does not lend it; the sauna and the float need none.

When you come to Ōmni Space

Ōmni Space is at 16C Quốc Hương, Thảo Điền, open 9:00–21:00 every day, with the last float starting at 20:00. A float is 1,500,000 VND for 60 minutes or 2,000,000 VND for 90 minutes; two people in the Couple Room pay the single price plus 700,000 VND. Online booking is paid by bank transfer, and international cards are accepted at the counter. The team behind Ōmni opened Vietnam’s first float centre, Float Vietnam, in 2017, and guests rate Ōmni 4.8 ★ across 72 Google reviews (25 October 2026). Evening slots go fast during fair weeks, so book ahead.

Frequently asked questions

When and where is Cafe Show Vietnam 2027?

From 6 to 8 May 2027, in Hall A of SECC, 799 Nguyễn Văn Linh, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, according to the official website. Please check again with the organisers closer to the date.

How far is SECC from Thảo Điền?

About 60 minutes by Grab, depending on the time of day and traffic. That is why we suggest an evening float after a show day, or a float on the day after the show.

Can I float after drinking a lot of coffee?

Yes. Many coffee professionals float in the evening after a tasting day. If you can, set an afternoon caffeine cut-off and drink some water before you come, so your body is ready to settle.

Do I need a swimsuit?

Not for the float or the sauna: each float room is private, with its own shower. For the cold plunge, bring your own swimwear, as the counter does not lend it.

Where can I drink good coffee near Ōmni Space?

In Thảo Điền our team likes Hue Cafe Roastery (67B Xuân Thủy) for salt coffee, Maison Marou (90 Xuân Thủy) for chocolate and Phê La for oolong tea. Check opening hours before you go.
