In short: Run To Live 2027 is on Sunday 11 April 2027, with 21 km, 10 km and 5 km races; the 2027 venue has not been announced yet. April is one of the hottest months in Saigon, so start easy and drink early. After the finish: cool down first, rest, then a float or a short round of sauna and cold the next day.
Maybe this is your first 10 km. Maybe a friend talked you into the half marathon, or your office signed up a team for the 5 km. Shorter races are where most people fall in love with running, and they come with their own surprises: legs that feel fine on Sunday and stiff on Tuesday, an April sun that is already strong at sunrise, and that slightly giddy tiredness after a big first. This guide is for you: what is confirmed about the race, how to handle the heat, and a simple, gentle plan for the days after.

Run To Live 2027 at a glance
Run To Live is organised by Miracle Entertainment Group, and this year’s edition is built around the idea of endurance, “bền bỉ” in Vietnamese. Here is what the official website confirms so far. Details can still change, so check them with the organisers closer to the date.

Shorter race, different recovery
Our guides to the Techcombank HCMC International Marathon and HCMC Marathon 2027 are written for the full 42 km. A 5 km, 10 km or half marathon asks less of your body, but if it is your first race at that distance, it can feel just as big. Two things are worth knowing:
- Soreness often arrives late. Muscle soreness after a new effort usually builds over the next one to two days. Feeling great at the finish and stiff on the stairs on Tuesday is normal.
- The hardest part is often the pace. Race-day excitement makes the first kilometres feel easy, and in the heat that bill comes due later. Start slower than you think you should.
| You ran… | Our suggestion |
|---|---|
| 5 km | Breakfast with your crew, then a 60-minute float or the sauna and cold plunge the same day |
| 10 km | Eat, rest, a short cold plunge in the afternoon; a float that evening or on Monday |
| 21 km, first time | Eat and sleep on Sunday; a 90-minute float on Monday or Tuesday, when the soreness peaks |
| A team from work or a running club | Book the whole sauna and cold plunge room together (up to 4 people, 60 minutes), then float in turns |
April in Saigon: respect the heat
April is one of the hottest months of the year in Ho Chi Minh City, at the end of the dry season, and the humidity is already rising. Humid air slows the cooling effect of sweat, so an easy pace can feel hard. A few simple rules help:
- Drink through the day before, not just on the morning. Sip at every water station, even early on.
- Wear light colours and a cap, and nothing new on race day.
- After the finish, cool down first: shade, water, something salty to eat, and dry clothes.

After the finish: cool, rest, then float
In April’s heat, the cold plunge (7–12 °C) is the most welcome thing after a race. Enter slowly, breathe out long and slow, and keep it short: 30 seconds to 2 minutes is plenty the first time. Save the infrared sauna with red light (45–55 °C) for the next day, once you have rehydrated; a few rounds of 10 to 15 minutes of heat, a short cold dip and a few minutes of rest are enough. Our contrast therapy guide explains the rounds.
Then the float. You lie back in about 25 cm of warm water with dense, mineral-rich Epsom salt, so the water carries your whole weight, at 33–34 °C, close to skin temperature. No pressure on your feet, knees or hips, no noise, nothing to do. Many runners tell us their legs feel lighter right after. Wait with the float if you have raw blisters or chafing, because the salt stings.
Ōmni Evidence Scale: Promising, for cold plunge and hot-and-cold rounds after hard exercise. A meta-analysis found less soreness than passive rest, though the trials are small. Float for perceived soreness after exercise is Early evidence: small trials in athletes point the same way.
Ōmni Evidence Scale: Strong evidence, for float and stress. Several trials point the same way. We rate it Strong because, on top of these trials, user experience is overwhelmingly positive: in a 2025 survey of regular floaters, 92% reported relaxation and 77% less stress, echoed by thousands of reviews, Reddit threads and forums, and by athletes and public figures who float. See how we rate evidence on the Ōmni Evidence Scale.

A busy week in town
Race weekend follows straight on from SaigonTex, the textile and garment expo at SECC from 7 to 10 April. If you are in town for the fair and running on Sunday, our SaigonTex 2027 visitor guide covers the fair days. For everything else on the calendar, see our major events in Ho Chi Minh City.
Getting to Ōmni. The easiest way is Grab, Vietnam’s ride-hailing app (car or motorbike, price shown before you book): type “Ōmni Space, 16C Quốc Hương”. Metro Line 1 also has a Thảo Điền station. If the race returns to Thủ Thiêm, it is on the same east side of the Saigon River as Thảo Điền. Staying a day longer? Here are things to do in Thảo Điền.

Your race recovery at Ōmni Space
Ōmni Space is at 16C Quốc Hương, Thảo Điền, open 9:00–21:00 every day, with the last float starting at 20:00. Float, infrared sauna with red light and cold plunge are under one roof, from the team that opened Vietnam’s first float centre, Float Vietnam, in 2017. A float is 1,500,000 VND for 60 minutes or 2,000,000 VND for 90 minutes. The sauna or the cold plunge is 450,000 VND on its own, or 200,000 VND added to a float. The whole sauna and cold plunge room for up to 4 people is 900,000 VND for 60 minutes. No swimsuit needed for the float room or the sauna; for the cold plunge, bring your own (we do not lend swimwear). Online booking is paid by bank transfer, and international cards are accepted at the counter. Guests rate Ōmni 4.8 ★ across 72 Google reviews (25 October 2026). Race weekend gets busy, so book early.

When and where is Run To Live 2027?
Race day is Sunday 11 April 2027, with 21 km, 10 km and 5 km races. The 2027 venue had not been announced when we checked on 4 November 2026; an earlier edition was held at The Metropole Thủ Thiêm. Check the official website closer to the date.
Why are my legs more sore two days after the race?
Muscle soreness after a new or hard effort usually builds over the next one to two days. Gentle movement, sleep and a calm recovery session help many runners feel better.
Should I use the sauna right after a race in April?
In April’s heat, we suggest cooling down first: shade, water and a short cold plunge. Save the infrared sauna for the next day, once you have rehydrated.
Can our running team book together?
Yes. The sauna and cold plunge room can be booked whole for up to 4 people for 60 minutes, and the float rooms can be booked side by side.
Do I need a swimsuit?
Not for the float room or the sauna. For the cold plunge, bring your own swimsuit, as the counter does not lend swimwear.
