In short: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) has more sauna and ice bath options than you might expect, but they come in very different forms: Finnish-style sauna and ice bath clubs in Thảo Điền and District 1, large Korean-style bathhouses (jjimjilbang) in Thảo Điền and District 7, private onsen-style suites in the centre, and quiet private spaces like Ōmni Space, where an infrared sauna and a cold plunge sit alongside float rooms. Below, you will find who offers what, the prices each venue lists publicly (with the date we checked), and which place might suit the kind of day you have in mind.
You have probably searched “sauna Saigon”, “ice bath Saigon” or “onsen Saigon” and ended up with a mix of Instagram pages, old blog posts and listings for other cities. This guide brings the real options together in one place. Our team runs Ōmni Space in Thảo Điền, so yes, we are one of the entries below, but we have tried to make this genuinely useful for comparing everyone: what each place offers, what it costs when the price is public, and even what still does not exist in the city at all (spoiler: no hammam yet).
Walk-ins welcome until 18:00. Ōmni Space is at 16C Quốc Hương, Thảo Điền, a few minutes’ walk from Thảo Điền Metro station. Open 9:00–21:00 daily; the last float starts at 20:00. Open in Google Maps

Sauna in Saigon: three very different experiences
“Sauna” in Ho Chi Minh City can mean three quite different things: a hot, social Finnish-style room full of regulars, a Korean bathhouse where families can spend an afternoon, or a private cabin that is entirely yours. Knowing which experience you actually want can save you a lot of Grab rides.
Finnish-style sauna and ice bath clubs
This is the newest and fastest-growing part of Saigon’s wellness scene. Dii Sauna & Icebath, beside the Nhiêu Lộc canal in Tân Định, runs a shared Finnish-style sauna with ice baths in 2-hour visits; on its booking page, a 5-visit pack works out at 550,000 VND per visit, and private bookings for whole groups are also available. In Thảo Điền, Primal is a training gym with a wellness floor featuring a hot stone sauna at 80–90 °C, two ice barrels at 10 °C and hot and cold magnesium baths; its listing says you do not need to train that day, or make a booking, to use it. Cá Hồi Sauna & Ice Bath is a garden social club in Thảo Điền, featured in Vogue Singapore’s 2025 wellness guide, with sauna, ice baths, events and a run club.
Think mixed groups, swimwear, proper heat and a social atmosphere. If you enjoy the classic Nordic rhythm of hot, cold, rest and repeat, this is probably your scene. Our visitor’s guide lists several more clubs in Thảo Điền.

Korean-style bathhouses (jjimjilbang)
If you are searching for a “bathhouse in Saigon”, a Korean jjimjilbang is the closest match: single-sex bath halls with hot and cold pools, followed by shared floors with heat rooms and lounges where everyone wears the house clothes. Golden Lotus Healing World fills a multi-storey building on Đường số 10 in Thảo Điền and opens 9:00 to midnight, according to a July 2026 visitor guide, which also notes that the entry price is not published online. Its sister venue, Golden Lotus Healing Land, is in Phú Mỹ Hưng, District 7 (more on that below). For a long, rainy afternoon of heat, these are among the best-value options in the city, especially for families and groups.
District 1 and District 10 also have several spas with sauna facilities: Temple Leaf Sauna lists sauna entry at 330,000 VND with hot and cold baths and a steam room, while Nấm Spa lists a stand-alone sauna at 300,000 VND.
Private infrared sauna rooms
An infrared sauna uses infrared heaters to warm your body rather than relying on extremely hot air, so the room itself stays cooler and many people find the experience easier to breathe in. It is a gentler kind of heat than a Finnish sauna, not the same thing. At Ōmni, the private infrared and red-light sauna is a gentler, lower heat; if what you want is the full 80–90 °C Finnish experience, Primal and Dii are the places to look. Our infrared vs Finnish sauna guide goes into the difference in detail.

Ice bath and cold plunge in Saigon
In a city that rarely drops below 25 °C, cold water can feel like the real luxury. If you are looking for an ice bath in Ho Chi Minh City, these are the main options:
- Dii Sauna & Icebath (Tân Định): ice baths alongside the sauna, included within the 2-hour visit.
- Primal (Thảo Điền): two ice barrels at 10 °C plus cold magnesium baths, with no booking needed.
- Cá Hồi (Thảo Điền): ice baths in a garden setting, often as part of a group.
- WAV Onsen (District 1): a private cold plunge inside each suite.
- Ōmni Space (Thảo Điền): a cold plunge in a private room, for 30 minutes to use at your own pace: a few short dips or one longer one.
Colder is not automatically better. Water at 10–15 °C is more than enough to give you that unmistakable rush, while still being friendlier for a first try than a near-freezing tub. For breathing technique and guidance on how long to stay in, read our ice bath and Wim Hof guide. And if you want to move back and forth between hot and cold, the contrast therapy guide gives you a simple routine to follow.
Onsen in Saigon: what is real
In Japan, an onsen is a bath supplied by a natural hot spring. Ho Chi Minh City does not have a natural hot spring within the city, so “onsen Saigon” usually means an onsen-style bath using heated water. That can still be a lovely experience — it is simply useful to know what you are actually booking.
- WAV Onsen (40 Hai Bà Trưng, District 1, at the entrance of KiN Hotel Onsen) offers fully private 2-hour suites, each with an onsen bath, a sauna, a cold plunge, a sofa bed, robes and towels, open 24/7 including holidays. Its website lists three room tiers, from 1,899,000 VND for a Standard room to 4,199,000 VND for the VIP room, with a larger maximum capacity than the base guest count. It is the only option we found that stays open all night, which can be especially handy around very early or very late flights.
- Onsen Wellness Việt (334A Nguyễn Trọng Tuyển, Tân Sơn Hòa) combines Japanese-style mineral bathing with Korean-style sauna rooms and is sold on KKday; we could not confirm a current price.
- A real hot spring: Bình Châu, a natural hot spring area in Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu, is a full day trip of a few hours each way by road. Packages vary widely, so check current prices before you go.

Hammam, banya or Greek bath in Saigon?
We get asked this surprisingly often, so here is the straightforward answer as of October 2026: we could not find a Turkish hammam, a Russian banya or a Greek-style bathhouse open to the public in Ho Chi Minh City. The closest alternatives are a Korean jjimjilbang for the communal bathhouse feeling, a Finnish-style sauna club for strong heat followed by cold water, or a private onsen-style suite for hot water in a room of your own. If one opens, we will add it here.
Ōmni Space: heat, cold and float in one quiet place
A quick note on what we are, and what we are not: Ōmni Space is not an onsen, not a Finnish sauna and not open 24 hours. We are a small, quiet float centre in Thảo Điền, from the team behind Float Vietnam, the country’s pioneer float centre since 2017. Alongside the float rooms, we have a private infrared and red-light sauna, a cold plunge and Guided Brainwaves sessions. It is designed for people who want heat and cold without the crowd — and who like the idea of finishing with something no other venue on this list offers: a float.
In a float, you lie back in about 25 cm of water holding around 500 kg of dense, mineral-rich Epsom salt, warmed to 33–34 °C, close to skin temperature. The water supports your whole weight inside a private room that you can make completely dark and quiet. After a hot sauna and a cold plunge, the contrast feels distinct: the cold brings everything into sharp focus, then the float gives it space to settle. A single float costs 1,500,000 VND for 60 minutes or 2,000,000 VND for 90 minutes, and the couple room (one large square pool for two) adds just 700,000 VND for the second person. Sauna and cold plunge can be booked on their own (450,000 VND each) or added to a float (200,000 VND each).
Sauna & Float (November): when you book a 90-min float, add the infrared & red-light sauna for free (20 min before you float). No swimwear needed for the sauna; the cold plunge is sold separately (450,000 VND on its own, 200,000 VND with a float; bring your own swimwear).

Every room has its own private shower, and the couple room has two, one for each person. You do not need swimwear in the private float room or the sauna; for the cold plunge, bring your own swimsuit (we do not lend them). Towels, shampoo, shower gel and a hairdryer are provided.

What the research says about sauna, cold water and float
Sauna. One of the best-known studies followed 2,315 middle-aged Finnish men for about 20 years. Men who used a sauna four to seven times a week had fewer fatal heart events than men who went once a week. It is an observational study, which means it shows an association rather than cause and effect, and it was conducted with traditional Finnish saunas, mostly at high temperatures.
Ōmni Evidence Scale: Promising, for regular traditional sauna and heart health. A large, long-running body of research points in the same direction, but it is observational and mostly based on Finnish men.
Cold water. A Cochrane review of 17 small trials (366 people) found some evidence that cold-water immersion after exercise reduces muscle soreness compared with simply resting; the authors rated the studies as low quality. Many people who enjoy ice baths talk about something more immediate, though: that sharp, clear-headed reset you can notice from the very first dip.
Ōmni Evidence Scale: Promising, for cold-water immersion and muscle soreness after exercise. Several reviews point in the same direction, although many trials are small.
Float. Float has been explored across hundreds of scientific studies. A 2005 meta-analysis of 27 float studies found positive effects on stress-related body measures and well-being, while a Swedish randomised pilot trial found that 65 working adults who floated 12 times over seven weeks reported less stress and anxiety and better sleep than a waiting group.
Ōmni Evidence Scale: Strong evidence, for float and stress. We rate it Strong because, alongside these trials, user experience is overwhelmingly positive: in a 2025 survey of regular floaters, 92% reported relaxation and 77% less stress, echoed by thousands of reviews, Reddit threads and forums, and by athletes and public figures who float. See how we rate evidence on the Ōmni Evidence Scale.
One simple heat tip that applies anywhere on this list: drink water before you begin, skip alcohol, and step out whenever you feel you have had enough.
Staying in District 7?
Phú Mỹ Hưng has an option close to home: Golden Lotus Healing Land at 139 Tôn Dật Tiên, a Korean-style jjimjilbang that The Smart Local listed as open 8:30–23:00 daily. It makes an easy weekend outing for families. For Finnish-style clubs, ice baths or a float, you will need to head towards Thảo Điền or District 1: from District 7, a Grab to Thảo Điền takes around 60 minutes, depending on traffic, so it is worth treating the trip as a proper half-day rather than squeezing it in.
Which one suits your day?
- You want strong heat and a social crowd: a Finnish-style club such as Dii, Primal or Cá Hồi.
- You want a long, cheap afternoon with family or friends: a Korean jjimjilbang such as Golden Lotus.
- You need somewhere in the middle of the night: WAV Onsen, open 24/7.
- You want quiet, privacy and a float at the end: Ōmni Space in Thảo Điền.
Ōmni Space – Float Saigon is at 16C Quốc Hương, Thảo Điền. We are open 9:00–21:00 daily; the last float starts at 20:00, and walk-ins are welcome until 18:00. Staff speak English, and you can pay by card, bank transfer or cash. International cards can be swiped at the front desk; online booking payment does not take international cards yet. You can find float prices on our price page.

Where can I take a sauna and an ice bath in Saigon?

Is there a real onsen in Ho Chi Minh City?
Not one fed by a natural hot spring. Venues such as WAV Onsen offer onsen-style heated baths; the nearest natural hot spring is Bình Châu, a day trip away.
Is there a hammam or Russian banya in Saigon?
We could not find one open to the public as of October 2026. A Korean jjimjilbang or a Finnish-style sauna club is the closest alternative.
Which sauna in Saigon is open 24 hours?
WAV Onsen in District 1 lists itself as open 24/7, including holidays. Ōmni Space is open 9:00–21:00 daily.
Does Ōmni Space have a Finnish sauna or an onsen?
No. Ōmni has a private infrared and red-light sauna, a cold plunge and float rooms. If you have health questions, our team can talk them through with you on site.
