In short: Most of us already know the feeling: a walk under trees, an hour by the water, and somehow the day feels a little lighter. Research is beginning to explain why. Japan has promoted forest bathing since 1982 and studied it for decades, while large surveys link time in green and blue spaces with better wellbeing. Then there are the bolder ideas, like walking barefoot to “ground” your body’s electricity. This shelf gathers our articles on recovering outdoors, with an honest evidence label on each one.
Ōmni Recovery Library · Recovery by Nature
Saigon is a city of nine million people, plenty of concrete and a great deal of traffic, so a page about recovering through nature might sound almost ironic. But nature is closer than it seems. The river is right there, the parks come alive before sunrise, and even a short walk beneath old trees can change the texture of a day. The more interesting questions are how much nature you actually need, whether a city park counts, and which popular practices offer something beyond a pleasant walk with a fancy name.
How we rate evidence: every article on this shelf begins with one label from the Ōmni Evidence Scale (Strong evidence, Promising, Early evidence, No good evidence yet), so you can tell at a glance whether you are reading about established trials or long-held tradition. See how the Ōmni Evidence Scale works.
Already in the library
This is one of our newest shelves. Our first full articles on forest bathing, barefoot earthing and the “nature dose” are on their way. For now, these pieces explore a few ways that time outside can become part of recovery:
- Sleep Tourism in Saigon: How to Plan a Trip That Actually Helps You Sleep: morning light, slower days in a green neighbourhood, and other simple habits that can support better rest while travelling.
- Can You Float at Home, in a Bath, a Pool or the Sea? (Float Vietnam): a closer look at what floating in the sea or a lake can give you, and what it cannot.

What Ōmni offers
Nothing on this shelf, and we are quite happy to say so. Ōmni is an indoor float centre in Thảo Điền; when it comes to this kind of recovery, our best advice is wonderfully simple: go outside.
